The following are notes from Gay, grand daughter of Arthur and Sarah: "Arthur and Sarah Mold's marriage was probably not a happy one. It was mixed religion (as well as Sarah being half Maori) and Arthur was a loud, very rough, very tough, abusive man - I believe. Whether Sarah left of her own accord or was told to go; she and her youngest daughter lived in Panmure from about 1936. Dot told me once she loved coming to the farm (ours) because there was always cream cakes. Her father refused to allow cream taken from the cowshed. Lots of men didn't like the 'profits' going to the family then - the Depression. When Sarah died grandad married again soon after! Approx 1952. They adopted a baby girl."

Known as Archie, he stayed around Kihikihi, Kio Kio and Pirongia doing odd farm jobs until the 1920's when he worked for Mr Bell at Pakuranga.
