From Gay Legge's note's: "Known as Dot, had a colourful life, not that I know any details. Friends as a teenager were rough types (1930's). Was put on probation, married a poor guy - sometime thief and later put in an asylum (and probably spent time in gaol as well) - died sometime about 1978 - 84. Dot left him and 3 or 4 kids and went looking for an old love - Keith Mahoney. He become financially well off. They spent some time in Malaya and then settled in Howick. She had another 5 kids and Keith adopted the others. When her first husband died Keith and Dot were finally married in the Howick Catholic Church. She died in 1993"

From Anne Grayson nee Arvidson's notes: "Mabels's first husband was Donald Ernest Arvidson born 8 July 1921, died 23 May 1978 and I remember him, as do all my cousins, as a very loving grandfather. He was a boilermaker by trade and built a lovely family home in Panmure. He came from a very strict Swedish family and I find it hard to believe he was a theft or in jail. He was a cyclist who won many trophies in competitons. He battled with a sickness in later years which my have meant he spent a small time in a hospital but my Dad says he never spent time in an asylum or jail. My Nana and Grandad did divorce after my Nana left him with the four children to run off with his mate Keith. Nana married Keith and went to live in Malaysia. They did have five more children and Keith only adopted the youngest two (Wynn and Heather) of the four eldest children. I do think they were married a long time before my Grandad died.
