Emigrated aboard the 'May Queen' which sailed up the Tamaki River. The immigrants lived in tents near Howick for a while in 1878. Thomas was with an 'Armed Constabulary' unit which was staioned at Alexandria, near Pirongia. Died after a fall from a horse and being kicked in the head.
