OBITUARY:

                        FORMER NURSE DIES TODAY: 

Anna Colby, 78, for 12 years a nurse at the University of Idaho infirmary and resident of Moscow for more than 30 years, died this morning at the Geitman Hospital. She had been a member of the Methodist Church here since 1913. Mrs. Colby, who was born Oct 19, 1865 at Forest, MI was a nurse in the Spanish-American War, spent 15 years as a deaconess for the Methodist Church and had been a widow for 38 years. She leaves a sister, Mrs. Isabel Davis at Alpena, MI and a brother, Milo Johnston at Los Angeles, CA. Short's Chapel has charge of arrangements which are pending. from the Moscow IDAHONIAN, Friday, Aug 25 1944. Funeral services for Anna E. Colby, with the Rev. Raymond E. Kratzer officiating, were held at 2 pm Monday at Short's Chapel. Rebekah Lodge members assisted. Robert Walls sang "An Evening Prayer" and "Now the Laborer's Task is Done". Pallbearers were O. K. Olson, Joe Collins, W. A. Sheets, and George Knowles. Burial was in Moscow Cemetery..from the Moscow IDAHONIAN, Tuesday, Aug 29, 1944.
