Ann Swallow was baptised on 16th February 1701 at Kimpton in Hertfordshire, daughter of John and Sarah Swallow. John Swallow worked as a tailor.

Ann was married on 18th February 1724 at Kimpton, aged 23, to a John Jordan. They had a daughter named Elizabeth baptised in 1724, followed by a daughter named Ann in 1727. The two girls would die within a couple of months of each other in autumn 1728, aged 18 months and about four, leaving Ann and John childless again. They went on to have another daughter in 1729, whom they also called Elizabeth. After Elizabeth's baptism the family appears to have left Kimpton; they have yet to be traced after 1729.
