Edward Swallow was baptised on 2nd September 1696 at Kimpton in Hertfordshire, son of a tailor called John Swallow and his wife Sarah.

No evidence has been found to suggest that Edward married or had children. His father died in 1742 and his mother in 1752.

Edward lived to be 71 years old. He was buried at Kimpton on 25th January 1768, described as a 'poor old man'.
