While infant,was in sailboat with parents when boat wrecked. She was wrapped in silk shawl and went ashore. The shawl was displayed at the first Helferich Reunion at Detroit in 1899. Ann and Maurice moved to New York in 1824 where Maurice gave up his occupation as a tailor in favor of agricultural pursuits. 1837 they moved to Cleveland, Ohio and in 1839 they went to Penn. After Maurice died, Ann returned to Canada. where she married 2nd husband. She died at home of son John Dean Sullivan.

Ann was a quaker in 1881 Colchester census.
