Information on Ann Cathey

Ann Cathey was probably born in Burke (now McDowell) Co, NC between 1755 and 1774, probably much closer to 1774 than 1755. Ann Cathey seems to be home with her parents for the 1790 census, but I can't be sure as no ages were given for females. William Cathey had 5 females with him that year, one of them was certainly Ann Cathey.

Ann probably married Robert Gillespie between 1790 and 1800, either in old Burke or old Buncombe County, North Carolina, depending on when she married (the family moved from Burke to Buncombe ca 1797).
