Amos Ross (George, Daniel, Daniel, David, Ezekial) was born on 28 January 1789 in Westfield, Essex County New Jersey. On 16 September 1810 he married Lydia Williams at the First Presbyterian Church of Westfield. Lydia was born on 2 January 1791 probably in Union Co. New Jersey and died on 2 December 1869 in Jerseyville, Illinois. Amos died on 6 September 1868 in Jerseyville. Amos and Lydia are buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.

Amos moved with his parents and others from Westfield, NJ to Butler County Oh, Later Amos and his wife moved along with their daughter Charlotte Conkling's family to Jerseyville, IL. Amos and his wife are buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville. His tombstone gives death date and age of 79 yr. 10 mos 6 da.
