Ezekiel Ross (George, Daniel, Daniel, David) was born on 7 September 1756 in Westfield New Jersey. He married Ruth Maxwell on 14 March 1775 in Westfield, New Jersey. Ruth was the daughter of David Maxwell and Suzanna Miller of Union County, New Jersey. Ruth and Ezekiel, many of their children and Ross relatives as well as other friends from their church in Westfield moved to Reily Township, Butler County, Ohio in the early 1800’s. Ruth died on 10 November 1819 and Ezekiel died on 13 February 1845. They are buried at the Old Bethel Church Cemetery in Township, Butler County, Ohio. The land for the cemetery and church was donated by Ezekiel and had been part of his farm. In 2004 the cemetery still existed. Ezekiel was a veteran of the Revolutionary War. According to his pension record, he entered the war in spring of 1776 under Captain Brookfield. He marched with the troops to Staten Island and engaged with the British there.
