Services for Amanda Cook, 78, former Sterling and Marlow resident who died Monday at Amarillo, TX, will be 2pm Friday in the Sterling Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Howell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Sterling Cemetery under direction of Becker Funeral Home. She was born on Aug 31, 1886, in Sherman, TX, coming to Sterling as a young girl and later moving to Marlow. One year ago she moved to Amarillo. She was married to Wade Cook in Sherman. She was a member of the Marlow Baptist Church. Survivors include five sons, Veachel, Marshall, Odell and Bill, all of Amarillo, and Albert of Albuquerque, NM; and one daughter, Mrs. L.P. Hartman of Duncan. Per her death certificate, Amanda's parents were Lafayette GRAY and Elizabeth MAYS. Her middle name was Elizabeth.
