In 1916 Allen was listed as a Tenant farmer. Allen moved to Sidney, Ohio some time before 1920. The 1920 census list's Allen as living in Sidney, Ohio on Wapack Rd. Children listed with him then were Lee (18), Mildred (16), Burton (12), Ruth (9), and Guy (7). Lee's first wife Ivaloe (17) is also listed as in the household as a daughter in law. 1927 is when his mother died. In Mary's obit it states that Allen was a resident of Sidney, Ohio. His residence at the time of death was Waterville, Ohio. Allen was working on the Nickel Plate RR as a laborer. He apparently fell off a rail car and fractured his skull. The obit says that the remains were taken to the funeral home. There is speculation that Allen was pushed of the train but they couldn't prove that the accused did it. Allen probably came back for Mary's funeral and never returned to Sidney. Allen is buried in the New Weston Cemetery in an unknown or unmarked grave.
