John was the youngest son. He was born in Weston and lived there most of his life. He lived about 10 years in Bowling Green at the Dixie Trailer Park at 891 Main St. and the last 4 months of his life at the VA Hospital in Cleveland. John served in the Spanish American War. John married Bessie Perrin of Bellevue in 1899. Their son Clarence was born in 1900. John and Clarence are listed as living with Alfred and Mary in the 1910 census. In fact John was still at home when Mary died in 1927. John was a fireman at the old grist mill in Weston. He was a line man for the Cresent Telephone Co. and a painter. In the 1920 census John is listed as living on his own without Clarence. According to Marie Meach, John was a drinker and Bessie wouldn't put up with it. She didn't want to raise Clarence that way. So she left John. Bessie was an RN. Clarence and Bessie at some point moved to Washington DC. Birth date is from the Wood Co. probate records. Alfred's pension papers have birthdate as December 13, 1874. John's obit has it as December 15, 1874. References
