From the October 21, 1992, edition of the Elgin (IA) Echo Service For Allan Bacon Wednesday Allan (Bud) Bacon, 60, rural Postville, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1992, at the Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon, following a lengthy illness. Funeral service was held Wednesday, Oct. 21, 10:30 am, at the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery, with Schutte Funeral Home, Postville, in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Beverly; three sons, Dwight and Sam, Postville, and Jerry, Albion; a daughter, Jenny Pannell, Beaumont, TX; eight grandchildren; four brothers, William, Elgin, Don and Richard, Monona, Ralph, Postville, and a sister, Shirley, Mrs. Jim Drake, Omaha, NE. Mr. Bacon, a 1950 graduate of the Monona High School, served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He and the former Beverly Nelson were married August 18, 1951.
