Harriet Alice Stevens Bourie

On 26 February 1872 Edward Richman, Justice of the Peace, married William Bourie and Alice Stevens, daughter of Angeline Shepherd and William E. Stevens in Albion, Noble County, Indiana. A photo of the couple with Alice's brother, William Clark Stevens is found below. The couple had three daughters and one son, Frank Bourie, Sr., My grand children's Great Grandfather. In the 1889 obituaries of his parents, William is said to be operating a grocery store in Ligonier, Noble County, Indiana. William is enumerated as Curren Bourie living with his wife Alice in Jonesboro, Mill Township, Grant County, Indiana in the June 1900 US Census. The 1900 US Census states that they had been married 28 years, had 4 children, but only one child, Frank, was still living. After William's death, Alice traveled to Florida to live with her son Frank Bourie. She died in Florida. Alice is buried in Wayfare Cemetery at Mayo, Lafayette Co., Florida. A memorial page hosts a photo of Alice and her cemetery marker on the Find-A-Grave website.
