Odell Elwell, MA, of Long Ashton, Somerset, married Roberta, youngest daughter of J.L. Stewart of Tenby, 1867 at Tenby (Gentleman’s Magazine). Alfred Odell Elwell (widowed, clerk in holy orders, Foxcote Rectory, Somerset, son of Jonathan Elwell, gentleman) married (18sep1877 Marylebone) Mary Eleanor Hill (5 Duke St., Portland Pl., daughter of Granville D. Hill, solicitor), witnesses Jonathan, Isabella and Lucy Ann Elwell, Granville D. and Susannah Hill, Thos Woollett (record, ancestry.com). Alfred obtained a degree at Worcester College, Oxford, and then took Holy Orders ("Iron Elwells"). Alfred studied at Oxford, got an MA in 1860 (Times) and d. 1915 (P. Elfick).
