Note birth date before parent marriage date. Need more documentation. !Alexander probably married Elizabeth Oldenburgh about 1792, See Alex. McA. will, Dauphin Co., PA Book D, pg. 312 (father, died 1798). Driskell records show another child, Alexander b.1802 in Perry Co., PA., died 1872. Dauphin Co., PA Orphan Court Docket F, page 209, 1827 shows Alexander died leaving 8 children, court giving guardianships of Sohia to George Pearson and guardianship of Catherine& Randall to James McAllister. Also see Lebanon Co., PA 1830 Census for more on these.Daniel Braucht journal mentions visiting his "uncle Alexander McAlister near Aquaduct and Juniata River in 1849, but this is not the same Alexander because he died before 1827. Ancestry Records report an Aug. 25, 1775 marriage of Mary McAllister and Thomas Cromby. Mrs. Conine shared a 1976 copy of Mirror newspaper that claimed Nelson McAllister built the first frame house in Gilboa, OH between 1840-50. Dorothy Swanson data on this family (see son James notes) shows a son John B. born 18 Nov. 1797 married to Elizabeth Geiger. This birth data challenges the marriage dates of the parents. I have a John B. also, but born abt. 1814 married to Margaret Campbell. Dorothy also shows a sibling Anna b. 9 Aug. 1808 (would be child #6 in my data, but I do not show her at all).
