Facts and Events
I think this James was actually an older sibling than shown here because he was given legal care of Randall and one other younger sibling; probably Catherine (see Alexander McAllister Will). May have been the oldest or next oldest to Alexander, Jr. son? James had two wives. See Dauphin Co.,PA Orphan Court docket F, pg. 209 (1827) where Catherine and Randall were awarded to James McAllister. This was the year their father died and mother apparently not able to care for them. Sophia was awarded to George Pearson at same time (same record). There is a James McAllister at Jefferson Twp., Dauphin Co., PA on pg. 305 of 1860 Census. My previous data of James McAllister born 1878 at Columbus, Louisa, OH is probably not correct birth location because of the birth location unlikely in 1798 and later sibling born in PA. He could have been in OH in 1860. Revisit that 1860 PA, Dauphin Co. census data (also other McAllister census data) See Louise Co., IA info. because good chance of finding James data there because of Dan'l Braucht journal about uncle James McAllister 7 miles North of Columbus City, Louisa Co., IA with second wife. There may have been a second marriage to a Harriet ___. The Nov. 26 date (added to b. 1798) came from records of Dorothy Swanson ([email protected] Phone (309) 867-3404 found in Mar/Apr 2007 Everton' Genealogy Helper Magazine pg. 126. Data of other sibling offered by her report as inserted also for Elizabeth, Daniel, Elizabeth (she lists as Sarah) , Sophia, Randall, and John B. (John B. data the only one far different than my previous data). |
