At some point, the original memorial for this individual on FindaGrave was "merged" with another memorial with the name of "Alexander Bouce". I am uncertain why or how this happened, but the link here is to the merger page, so that it can stay as a reminder. I believe this merger was an error, but I don't have enough information to prove this.
---- After a little research I discovered why the page was changed, or at least a most likely scenario. 'Bouce' is a typographical error. The original interment record should have shown "Bruce".
First, The Cleveland Necrology File for "Alexander Bruce" and the 'Alexander Bouce' interment record have matching information other than the spelling of the last name.
Second, the Find a Grave memorial was changed to reflect an interment record and does not reflect information from a headstone. I have strong doubts that he has a headstone. The Find a Grave page does not show one. At one point I requested a photo of his headstone from Find A Grave, but the person who attempting to fulfill the request couldn't find one even with the grave's location.
Third, the interment record for "Alexander Bouce" shows that his place of residence at the time of death was St. Clair St. His wife, Mary, was living on St. Clair Street in 1853, the year after his death.
Fourth, the original handwritten death record for Erie Street Cemetery shows 'Bruce' for Alexander's last name. The typed version of the interment record shows 'Bouce' for the same exact information, which further confirms that 'Bouce' is a typographical error. See sources 5 & 6. Close observation of the typed record shows a faded correction of 'Bruce' above the typed 'Bouce'.
At this time, 'Bouce' and even 'Bonce' continue to be prominent in various copied indices without taking the 'Bruce' correction into consideration at all.
