Some secondary sources claim that the wife of John Eaton was sister of JOHN BACHELOR {1634, Watertown} [GM 2:1:117-22]. No evidence has been to support this claim, but a record does exist which may explain why some researchers have been led to this conclusion. On 30 July 1641, "brethren John Batchellour & John Eaton with their wives" were admitted to Dedham church [DeChR 25]. This record descides Bachelor and Eaton as brethren to the church, but may have been taken incorrectly by some researchers to indicate that they were brothers-in-law, assuming that Eaton had married Bachelor's sister. The maiden surname of John Eaton's wife remains unknown.
