John EATON Sr. fought in King Philips War against the Indians under Lt. William HASEY c1675. He was "distracted", for wife, Alice, had to sue in court to have herself appointed guardian over her husband's affairs as her petition to the General Court in Boston indicates.

    Children of John Eaton and Abigail ---: John, "birth not found, was probably born in Watertown in 1636", taxed regularly until 1700, then from 1700 to 1704 taxed with son, i.e., "John & Willi Eaton"; after which only William's name appears. Wife named Alice, petitioned in 1684, "whereas he ye s'd Jn'o for many years past has been bereaved of ye right use of his reason some times raging mad & dleirious, other times more sober so as quietly to walk ye streets, but always utterly void of common prudence", requests guardian for John.
