From: Cs Snoddy
[researching the records] in Richmond [has revealed] that John Snoddy had filed his claim and paid his tax in the 1750's. ... There is no record as to exactly when [he] moved to Virginia, thus no clear indication of which children were born there. [1] Many of [his] descendants presently reside in Buckingham, Fluvanna & Albemarle Counties (all adjoining) and have a family reunion each August.

Footnotes

  1. Land records for then Albemarle County show that John Snoddy acquired 196 acres of land in 1744. Buckingham County was later split off from Albemarle, and this is probably the same person.
