This group photograph was taken in 1945 or later. We know that the baby in the back row (Connie Jones) was born in 1945.
Antoinette "Nettie" and Harriet were daughters of Philip J. Louth and Melissa Carpenter. Nettie, born in 1874, is the oldest person in the photograph. She is standing at the far right, behind the children. Harriett "Hat," is the tall woman in the dark dress standing to the left, directly behind a little boy. Hat was born in 1885. Hat's husband, Ted Patton, is the smaller man on the far right in the shirt & tie. Hat & Ted did not have children. With the exception of Hat & Ted Patton, all of the persons in the photograph are descended from Nettie and her husband, Samuel Leander Savidge (he died in 1942), or related to Nettie via marriage. Included in the photograph are three of her four children & some of their offspring (& one mother-in-law): 1) Emma "Gladys" & her husband, Edward Reynolds; 2) William Lionel "Leo" Savidge & his wife, Bessie Moorman; 3) Mildred Edna & her husband, Richard Kill. The younger children are Nettie's great-grandchildren.
Among others, first cousins Violet Lenore (Reynolds) Ashton, daughter of E. Gladys (Savidge) & Edward Reynolds, and LaDonna Pauline (Savidge) Brown, daughter of William Lionel "Leo" Savidge and Bessie Pearl Moorman, helped to identify the persons on November 25 & November 26, 2011. Both identified the second person from the left, the older lady with her hands behind her back, as Mrs. Patrick, an in-law. She is possibly the mother of Kathleen Savidge, Dale's wife.
