Understanding WeRelate

Help:History NEW
C: imho new page could be scrapped as history of WR is covered in Navigating WeRelate>What is WeRelate
Help:Basic concepts NEW
introduces the basic concept of different types of pages that link to each other;
mentions such things as person and family pages, shared source and place pages,
mentions that you can create trees but the pages in them are shared (shared content);
mentions talk pages;
points out where menus are (top and left);
short and sweet with links to other help pages for more information;
includes a link to Help:Glossary#Namespace;
includes Help:FAQ/Basic Concepts
D: This is the same idea as Help:Navigating on the Navigating WeRelate page. We might not need to repeat or elaborate it here (depends on whether we want to mention source and place pages in Help:Navigating or feel a need to explain them here).
Help:WeRelate features NEW
gives brief descriptions of watchlist, FTE, pedigree features, GEDCOM upload and download, User Pages, and advanced features such as categories and articles;
short and sweet with links to other help pages for more information
Alphabetical list of help pages EXISTING

Trying it out

Help:WeRelate Sandbox NEW
explains purpose of sandbox site, how to create an account there, and a link to it
C: I still think the sandbox is broken for new accounts. It looks like the only users able to edit are those with older accounts, such as you, Pbkeegstra and Dallan. The logs show that there appear to have been quite a few newer users who were able to open accounts, but none of them did any editing. I think Goldenoldie also had similar trouble.
Help:Tutorials and Help:Tutorials/xxx
REPLACES Help:Entering a Family on WeRelate tutorial, Help:Person pages tutorial and Help:Family pages tutorial and possibly others
C: CAUTION: the title Help:Tutorials was previously used and currently redirects to Help:Contents - so we should probably come up with a different title
D:If we are going to develop tutorials, they should be true tutorials, not just a restatement of other help pages – that means they include exact data to type into each field. They must be for execution in the Sandbox and must be written in such a way that they will work even if someone else just completed or is still going through the tutorials (e.g., make person names unique).
D: Tutorials do not need to reference policies or conventions, other than to state exactly what is to be typed into each field (e.g., 25 Dec 2016, in this format).
