Zubrinsky shows Stephen with 2 wives, without explanation (and without naming the first one), but presumably based on the gap in birth years between Richard and Jane.
Note that it would have been possible for one wife to have been the mother of all the children, but Richard's birth year is just an estimate, and he could have been born even earlier.
