Family:Martin Clos and Magdalena Leonard (1)

Martin Clos was born in 1803 and his wife Magdelena Leonard was born in 1802, both of them in Blieskastel in what is now Germany. The date of their marriage is unknown. They had eight children, all born in Blieskastel. Martin and Magdalena Clos sailed from Le Havre, France with most of their surviving children on the ship Harvest Queen, identifying their place of origin as Bavaria, and arrived in the United States on 12 Oct. 1853; he was 50 and she 51. Two years later they were living at 210 Lafayette Street in Detroit, Michigan, where Martin worked as a shoemaker. Martin died in 1856, and Magdalena in 1879.
