  4. Methodist. This church built mainly from logs of Chestnut trees. It wasorganized in 1836 and built on Buhrman land. Their son, Henry, was thefirst to be buried at the graveyard here. The log Chestnutt Church laterwas dismantled and replaced by a brick building, the forerunner of thepresent Mount Bethel United Methodist Church
