[edit] DOMIn his 1726 will, Person:Christopher Huston (1) identifies (or implies) six children, two of whom are married, and at least three of whom are adults. At least one of the married children (believed to be Person:James Houston (14), who predeceased his father) has two children who are identified as grandchildren in Christopher's will. Assuming that Christopher's married children were at least 20 years of age in 1726, the youngest married child could have been born no later than 1706. Allowing a 2 year birth interval for the other two married siblings gives us a DOM for Christopher and Martha of 1702. An unidentified son (resumed to be James (14), is known to have had at least two children at this time, as they are identified as grandchildren in Sameuls wi|l. Allowing two years each for these children, and assuming that James was the eldest child, and that the first child of Christopher and Esther was born one year after marriage, we get a DOM of no later than 1697. Assuming a DOM of 1697 at the latest, and assuming that Martha was 20 years of age at marriage, and that Christopher was at least two years older, we get a DOB for Martha of c1677 at the latest, and for Christopher of 1675 at the latest. Given his relative early death (age 51 if born in 1677), a DOB for Christopher of c1665 would not be unreasonable. If his eldest child was older than 20 at marriage, Christopher's DOB might be pushed back even further, but this seems to overly stretche the available data. |
