No Dates [21 June 2011]

Welcome. In reviewing recent changes, I noted you're adding a lot of people by hand, but without any dates. Before you get much further, please go back and add dates, places, and sources to these pages. Pages without dates are of limited use to other researchers, and are hard to link into the larger community because it's hard to identify duplicates. Also, some of the names look typical of very recent times. If any of these people are living, please delete the pages entirely, as pages for living people are not permitted. Image Licensing [23 September 2011]

Hello, I am a volunteer admin and it's my job to help people learn the system. You asked for help licensing your images. I can't license your images but I can give your guidance. There are numerous licensing options, but most images fall into one of these categories:

• Original published in US before 1923
• Low resolution copy of an historical photograph. (When you reduce the image before upload, the resolution is reduced.)
• Snippet of historical document
• Work of US government--Public domain
• If you took the picture, select the CC-BY-SA
• If you know the photographer, get written permission.
