User talk:Shaweb

Hello and welcome to the WeRelate. Thanks so much for participating and contributing what you know to our virtual genealogical community. Together we can build a community website where we can learn from each other, work together and find what we need to make our research easier, more rewarding and fun. We need your input to make the website the best that it can be. What would be really helpful for you? What seems difficult? We will be automating GEDCOM uploads in the next few months. They will automatically generate person Person:Ella Grey (1) and family Family:Daniel Phillips & Ella Grey (1) wiki pages. If you want to try out these pages, select <go to page> at the left and type Person:First and Last name (don't use middle name or titles like jr). If you want to try out the family pages, select <go to page> at the left and type Family:First and Last of the husband & First and Last of the wife. Anything you'd like to see?

FYI, there are several Kilsyths in Scotland. WeRelate will automatically link to the Place:Kilsyth, Stirlingshire, Scotland page or to whichever Kilsyth you belong to, if you make the title to your page Shaw|Kilsyth, Stirlingshire, Scotland. In most cases, we index on a 2 item name City or County, State or Country. However, when there is more than 1 place by the same name you will get a red link and should check the index kilsyth index to find the right jurisdiction. I just typed in Kiksyth located in Scotland in the place search and went through to the index. Thought you'd like to know.

If you have any questions or comments please email me. Again thank you for participation.---sq 12:05, 9 October 2006 (MDT)

Note: there aren't really several Kilsyth's in Scotland, just the confusion of Scotland's geographic reorganizations. I've eliminated the redundant Kilsyth pages and made them all link to the same one, which should help researchers connect. --TomChatt 02:45, 6 November 2007 (EST)

Changed tag names on William Shaw

I wanted to let you know that I changed some internal tags on William Shaw's page today. The change doesn't affect anything -- it just makes comparing page versions in the History view more readable. Unfortunately I wasn't logged in at the time; that's why you see the change from 192.168.0.3.--Dallan 14:06, 20 October 2006 (MDT)
