[add comment] [edit] Error importing pioneerstock.GED [28 April 2009]We had an error while attempting to import your GEDCOM. This is most likely our fault. We will review the error and should have your pages ready tomorrow (or Monday if tomorrow falls on a weekend). There is no need to re-import your GEDCOM file. For questions or problems, leave a message for Dallan or send an email to dallan@WeRelate.org.

[add comment] [edit] GEDCOM file isn't formatted correctly [29 April 2009]Hi, I've tried several times to import your gedcom today but it doesn't appear to be formatted correctly. For example, for Vera Inez McDonald (I365) the GEDCOM contains the following lines: 1 DATA The problem is the line that starts with a 4 directly under the line that starts with a 2. Level numbers are supposed to increment one level at a time. I've manually fixed a couple of issues and re-started the upload, but the system keeps finding problems so I'm giving up at this point. We've had many gedcom's from PhpGedView uploaded in the past so I'm guessing that this bug was introduced in their latest version. You'll need to wait for them to fix this bug before uploading your gedcom. Sorry.--Dallan 16:33, 29 April 2009 (EDT) Thanks, Dallan. Sorry to have troubled you. If I import it into another genealogy program and then export it from the "new" application, do you think that might do the trick?--PioneerStock 16:46, 29 April 2009 (EDT) It's worth a try. I just noticed that another gedcom "pioneer_stock.ged" failed, but it was exactly the same as "buttercupfamilyroots.ged". Running it through another genealogy program first seems like a good idea.--Dallan 18:41, 29 April 2009 (EDT) I'll see what I can do. Thanks for your help!--PioneerStock 19:05, 29 April 2009 (EDT) |
