Elizabeth (Sanford Jackson Jackson) Chambers [9 July 2016]

Hi. I see that you added an approx death year and place and burial place to Elizabeth Sanford, who married Joshua Jackson, Joseph Jackson, and Thomas Chambers. Do you have a source for this information? If you have a reliable source, I'd like to update my own records. If not, the information should be removed or commented to indicate why this is believed. Thanks.--DataAnalyst 23:33, 8 July 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks for the source info. However, the source you cited does not include a death year. I am going to remove the death and burial info on her record. If you have a source for the death info, please add the death back in, with the source. Thanks
If you need any help on WeRelate, please don't hesitate to ask.--DataAnalyst 16:01, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
Source for the death of Elizabeth Sanford was Ancestry. Elizabeth Sanford-facts Elizabeth Sanford BIRTH 06 Sept 1679@Fairfield, Connecticut,USA DEATH ABT 1729
Source for the date of death of Elizabeth Sanford was Ancestry Joseph Jackson-facts Elizabeth Sanford 1679-1768. Ancestry states Joseph Jackcon died 29 Sept 1714 @Stratfield, Fairfield, Connecticut, USA

Hi. If Ancestry source is not acceptable for date of death by all means delete. Norman--Normiejac 16:30, 9 July 2016 (UTC)

Hi. I assume you are referring to Public Member Trees - I saw several with a death of 1729. However, these trees are not a reliable source for older information like this. One tree has death between 1729 and 1795, which is an estimate picked up from World Family Tree, which used to give very broad estimates (not always accurate). I would guess that other trees have just picked up the 1729 part of that - so totally unreliable. I will remove the info (looks like JRich already has, and has replaced it with a fact that she was living in 1728/29). Thanks for responding. - Janet--DataAnalyst 20:23, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
I will replace with JRich fact that she,Elizabeth Sanford, and not Jrich, was living in 1728/29. Thank you Janet.- Norman

changes made to Wm Jackson son of Obediah & Ruth Montgomery Jackson. [28 September 2016]

Hi, Norman,

I have finally found the changes I made. If you look at the history (in the menu on the left side of the page for Family:William Jackson and Harriet Unknown (1), you will see that I merged what appeared to be duplicate pages for this family. If the merge is incorrect, you can undo it. (Information on how to Unmerge pages is at Help:Merging pages, under 8.8 Help for Unmarking pages. The changes for Person:William Jackson (450) appear to have been simple formatting changes, making the pages a little more consistent with WeRelate style.

Hope this helps, I have no information about this family, I'm sorry. Gayel--GayelKnott 15:00, 28 September 2016 (UTC)

thank you Gayel

Family Page for Thomas Walker and Bethia Chapin [25 September 2017]

We Relate Page Family: Thomas Walker and Bethia Chapin (2) [25 September 2017] [copied form User talk:GayelKnott ]

Hi Gayel. I would appreciate it if you can replace the Topic Page Family: Thomas Walker and Bethia Chapin(2)for me. I would like you to create a new: We Relate Page Family to commence with my parents: Laverne Jackson and Edna Mae Brown. They are the junction of my two families and this action makes following the 2 lines much easier.

To reach them follow: Thomas & Bethia's son Thomas b.1763 to David b. 1798 to Marcellus b. 1837 to Ada L. b. 1882 to Edna Mae Brown b. 1910 to spouse & family...

I thank you in advance. Norman--Normiejac 17:13, 25 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi, Norman, I'm not sure what the problem is. The pages for Edna Mae Brown and family already exist: Person:Edna Brown (20) and Family:LaVerne Jackson and Edna Brown (1), and they do connect up to Family:Thomas Walker and Bethiah Chapin (1).

If you have another family you would like to enter and it is not already on WeRelate, you can create pages for that family. Then keep adding families as necessary until they connect to Family:Thomas Walker and Bethiah Chapin (1).

Changing the page name for Family:Thomas Walker and Bethiah Chapin (1) would not change the relationships involved. As far as finding your way around WeRelate, there are many ways to do that. There is always the Search function, where you can search for either a person or a family. You can also follow the links on one page to another. There is also a small pedigree chart for each person page and each family page. It's just above the "Facts and Events" heading in the upper left part of the page, and called "Family Tree". If you click on "Family Tree" it shows you part of the pedigree, and you can extend it by clicking the "+" signs. If you click on the person's name in the pedigree chart, it will take you to the page for that person.

Hope this helps. Gayel --GayelKnott 19:26, 25 September 2017 (UTC)

Empty pages [26 October 2017]

Please do not create empty person pages (like Person:Daniel Swezey (2) unless you can add information to them. It causes entries to be returned when people search for that name or any name similar that show no dates and no country and makes it more time consuming to figure out if the page is of interest. --Jrich 22:43, 26 October 2017 (UTC)

Christopher Thayer [5 April 2018]

I am not sure why you would remove "There is a Christopher Thayer in the 1800 census for Mansfield, but no other records for this couple have been found" from Family:Christopher Thayer and Bathsheba Skinner (1) (here)?

It is not my comment, but there is such a census record see here and both he and his apparent wife, the only household members, are both in the oldest age group. So nothing is obviously inconsistent.

It would seem that there are proper ways to do this if the comment is wrong in view of the fact that other people obviously watch this page. All of them involve citing sources and reasons, whether the comment is removed and the explanation put on the talk page, or whether the comment is left and analysis added to the page, or the comment is moved to Christopher Thayer's page instead. --Jrich 00:24, 6 April 2018 (UTC)

Thomas Walker [2 September 2018]

I assume you mean Person:Mary Mellen (7) who married Thomas Walker, not "Helen Mellen"? In any case, some cases are easier working from ancestor forward, some from descendant backward. This is one of the reasons why collaboration holds such promise (if people could agree on goals... [inspired by an unrelated discussion with a different user]). --Jrich 01:57, 30 August 2018 (UTC)

Yes, I meant Mary Mellen and not Helen. Thank you. Normiejac--Normiejac 15:15, 2 September 2018 (UTC)
