WeRelate Date Format [30 July 2013]

Hello, Welcome to WeRelate. When editing a person or family page you will see the word "Date" followed by a blue "?" click on the "?" to see the preferred format for entering the day. We are using 9 Aug and not 09 Aug etc. A number of people will remove the leading 0 from dates on webpages when they find them. The whole point of editing those pages was to demonstrate the proper way to add sources, not to encourage you to create more pages without sources. Sharing data is useless unless you share how you know it. Too often unsourced data is merely the result of copying off of unreliable Internet sources, and without a complete trail of sources, it cannot be counted on. For example, entering the death date for Mary (Geddis) (Bosworth) (Archer) Francis without mentioning the last two marriages... One looks for a death date of Mary Bosworth in 1904 and can't find and assumes it is garbage. Thank you. --Jrich 01:14, 18 August 2013 (EDT)
