Next step: Review your GEDCOM [28 May 2011]

You're not done yet!

WeRelate is different from most family tree websites. By contributing to WeRelate you are helping to create Pando for genealogy, a free, unified family tree that combines the best information from all contributors.

Now that you have uploaded Morin Family Tree May 28 2011_2011-05-28.ged, your next step is to review what your pages will look like, review any potential warnings, and combine (merge) people in your GEDCOM with matching people already on WeRelate. You need to review your GEDCOM before it can finish importing. We will keep your GEDCOM in the queue for two weeks to give you time to review it.

Note: if your gedcom contains many errors or multiple families, we’d ask that you resolve and correct the errors, delete this gedcom and re-submit it without the errors before merging it with families already on WeRelate. If the gedcom is very large, we’d suggest breaking it up into separate files (or families) and importing them one at a time, which makes the review and correction process easier.

Click here to review your GEDCOM

Once you have finished your review and marked your GEDCOM Ready to import, one of our administrators will review your GEDCOM and finalize the import. This usually happens within 24 hours. You will receive a message here when the pages have been created.

Your gedcom file [29 May 2011]

Hello and welcome to WeRelate. I have reviewed your gedcom file and it will be imported soon. I do need to mention a problem. Working in a shared space is a bit different from working in your personal computer. You have many people in your file who have no identifying information (dates, places, etc.) Please help your fellow researchers by adding information to these pages before you upload additional gedcoms. Thanks. --Judy (jlanoux) 10:01, 29 May 2011 (EDT) (WeRelate volunteer)

Maybe we're related? [13 September 2011]

Hey, I saw you were watching Emma Beaudry, Joseph Camille Clouatre and their ancestors. They are related to me on my father's side. Maybe we are related?

Emma and Joseph are my great great grandparents. Emma and Joseph had 3 kids; Alice, Adrienne and M Caroline Leonne Clouatre (Alice is unlisted, but I'm about to list her) Alice married a man named Ephrem Morin, and had a boy named Lawrence Joseph Simon Anderson (She later married a man with the last name Anderson who's first name I do not know, and then my grandpa was legally adopted by him and so his name became Anderson.) Lawrence, or Larry, married a woman named Josephine, and they had 6 children; Tom, Linda, Doug, Carol, Susan, and Barbra. Tom Anderson married a woman named Judy, and they had me, Brittany. (Along with my brother, Brett.)

Why are you watching them? Maybe we are related somehow? If so, I'd love you to fill in some gaps on my family tree.--Eskimo626 21:24, 11 September 2011 (EDT)

Hi, Brittany, thanks for your comments!

Although we are likely not related, I do know your cousin, Ian. He says he last saw you at a Christmas gathering a few years ago.

I took up genealogy as a hobby a while ago, and after chatting about it with Ian, I did this research over the Holidays last year using ancestry.com (Morin Family Tree) and later downloaded the data here. If you, or Aunt Linda, have ancestry.com, I'll gladly give you edit rights to the tree.

I did not notice Alice was missing here. She was the key person! They probably filtered her out because I don't have birth/death dates for her and they think she is living. Here is the reference to what I believe is her marriage to Ephrem Morin (Alice =? Valida) from the ancestry.com tree.

Name: Valida Clouatre Spouse: Ephrem Morin Event Year: 1917 Event: Mariage (Marriage) Religion: Catholique Place of Worship or Institution: St-Joachim-de-Shefford Province: Québec (Quebec)

Here is the data for "Larry"; he and his 4 brothers all had "Joseph" as one of their names.

Name: Joseph Simeon Laurent Morin Event Year: 1931 Event: Naissance (Birth) Religion: Catholique Place of Worship or Institution: Granby (Ste-Famille) Province: Québec (Quebec)

Thanks again for visiting the site, and any corrections/additions you care to make are welcome and much appreciated.--JVallee 21:49, 12 September 2011 (EDT)
