Possible problem with your gedcom file [22 August 2010]

Hello and welcome to WeRelate. Thank you for submitting a gedcom file. I reviewed your file and I noticed a possible problem. You have a number of families on the Family tab with only one child and no parents. But there is a marriage date. I assume this is a problem with the export from your software. You can either make note of these and add the parents by hand. Or you can remove your file and upload a new one - this would mean doing the matches again. If you want the file uploaded please return to the Import tab and again click the Ready to Import button. We'll take care of it. Problems with gedcom file [27 August 2010]

I reviewed your newest upload ‎lfh993.ged. There are some serious problems with this file. I don't think we will be able to use it in its current form. Please look closely at the problems noted on the warning tab. These indicate that there is someone assigned to the wrong family. Also there are stray characters in the name fields. These must be corrected or no one will be able to find your pages. Names on the Person view should look like Surname, Given. No quotes, brackets or other non-alpha characters are allowed. I think it would be easiest for you to remove this file and fix the data in your original database. Then you can upload a new file. --Judy (jlanoux) 22:43, 27 August 2010 (EDT)

Gedcom warnings [23 October 2010]

Hi, I have reviewed your gedcom and I am concerned about the two warnings. One shows a person born 27 years after her mother died. Since this involves a well-known family, I don't believe it is appropriate to import a page full of emails for the daughter Mollie. We could just exclude Mollie if you want to proceed with the import. You can research her and add your info manually. The other warning also shows a clear error. There are two children born on the same date in different counties. One of them does not appear to belong to this family. Again, you can temporarily resolve the problem by excluding the child. A bigger problem that the system does not warn for if that you have a lot of families with a single spouse, yet there is a marriage date. I suspect that the husband and wife got separated in your export. I'll let you decide if you want to proceed or try the export again. I'm returning the file to user review status so you can look at it. If you want to exclude the two problem children and procced with import, just mark it ready when you are done.
