Error importing Winch.ged

We had an error while attempting to import Winch.ged. This is most likely our fault. We will review the error and should have your pages ready tomorrow (or Monday if tomorrow falls on a weekend). There is no need to re-import your GEDCOM file.

We also had a problem while importing Williams.ged. I am working right now on tracking down the problems with both gedcoms. Thanks for uploading your genealogy to WeRelate! -Nathan 14:39, 28 July 2007 (MDT)

Joseph Holmes [9 September 2007]

Am researching a Joseph Holmes who went to Shelburne Nova Scotia in 1783 as a disbanded soldier with the loyalists. He had a daughter Mary and son Charles, but no wife, assume she died before or during the trip. Mary born about 1771, Charles born about 1780. Sources state Joseph was from New Jersey. Is it possible that he is part of your Holmes family? Thank you for your time.--Kimw 08:24, 9 September 2007 (EDT)

Stephen Glover and unknown Cirkum [23 February 2009]

Hello, I just registered at WeRelate and found this couple, who were my great-great grandparents. The unknown Kirkham was Sarah "Sally" Kirkham, daughter of Robert Kirkham and Jane Boyd. Stephen was the son of Uriah Glover and Elizabeth Robinson. I have lots of Glover information. I'm descended from Stephen's next to youngest child, Jonah Glover. I have the names and marriages of all the children including Hulda, but I'd have to check my files to be more specific.

Hope you get this message. Heather (in Arizona) hlgoebel@yahoo.com

Samuel Martin's and Ann Hurd's Lanesboro connection [24 January 2010]

My ancestor Samuel Martin may have lived in Lanesboro, Mass circa 1755 - 1780. I have been trying to identify his ancestors.

I am interested in how you connected Samuel Martin (married to Ann Hurd) to Lanesboro. I found them listed in Cothren's "History of Ancient Woodbury" (Vol 1, p 625)along with a son Samuel (bap 1758)who would be the right age to be my ancestor. However, there is no mention of Lanesboro in connection with them. Thus, my interest in your report.

I would greatly appreciate any information you could provide.--RootDigger41 14:47, 24 January 2010 (EST)

Samuel Williams and Lois Allyn [19 January 2012]

Hello I am new to werelate.org so am not sure how to figure out how to contact who put up the tree that you are listed as a "watcher" on. I am descended from Simeon Williams, son of Samuel and Lois (Allyn) Williams and am curious about the info on there about this family. For example, I have never seen marriage data for the younger sisters Elizabeth and Alithea. I see the source is "family bible" and I am wondering if you or the person who posted the tree know more about this. I also was not aware of a younger sister Mary.

I have a lot of info about Simeon and his children. One of them, Fanny, married Ezekiel Strong and moved to Michigan where she died in 1845. Simeon's wife Tirzah's maiden name is one of my biggest brick walls. A transcription of an old family letter says here maiden name was Knight but I have been unable to find a Knight family with a daughter named Tirzah that fits. I would love to share information. Thanks Kate--K8renn 15:18, 19 January 2012 (EST)

Benjamin Hunt and Abijath Hunt [19 June 2012]

James Jones

Just noticed your page for James A. Jones in Grant County, Wisconsin. I've heard rumors (never verified) that several of the Jones's in Grant County at that time were related. If you should ever happen to notice a connection to James Jones, also of Grant County, let me know.

Offspring of Horace P. Pond and Caroline H. Hungerford [10 September 2012]

Greetings,

I have recently received from the house of my parents (both deceased) a map of North America that was drawn and signed by Caroline H. Hungerford. On the back of the map are some notes in my mother's handwriting:

"This map was drawn by Caroline Hungerford in 1834."

There is also a partial genealogy showing that Horace Phillip Pond married Caroline Hungerford. The only offspring given is Horace Newell Pond who is shown as having married Harriet Spencer who then gave birth to Robert Spencer Pond, my grandfather.

Questions:

1. Do you have any further information on the ancesters of Horace P. Pond and/or Caroline Hungerford? 2. Do you know of any other offspring of this couple?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards, Bob (Robert Spencer) Pond (III)--Bompata 14:53, 10 September 2012 (EDT)

James Madison Malone in Jones County, GA [24 October 2012]

I have been searching for information on my great grandfather James Madison Malone for several months and I have a cousin that has been looking for several years. This tree is the only reference to his father that I have seen. I am brand new to the site and am not real familiar with it. I assume that you gathered the information for the tree. If so I would like to discuss it with you, if not can you point me to the person that input the tree information.

Wheaton Hewitt Williams [27 October 2013]

Hello,

I am Ronald Utz, a direct descendant of Wheaton Hewitt Williams. I have for many years now suspected that Wheaton's parents were John Williams and Mary Hewitt of Stonington, CT. I know that based on the history books (I believe the Brown Family History), that he and many other residents came to Brookfield, NY from Stonington, CT. In addition, being that Mary Hewitt, daughter of Israel Hewitt, was married to John Williams at the correct time period and location to have given birth to my 3rd Great Grandfather. She even had a younger brother named Wheaton Hewitt who died young. But, I've never been able to find the proof. I even wrote to a local (Stonington) genealogist who couldn't find the proof either. So, your submission to "We Relate" has given me hope that someone else may have done this research to prove this lineage of Wheaton Hewitt Williams back all the way back to England. Have you been able to locate the actual church birth record for Wheaton Hewitt Williams, son of Mary "Hewitt" Williams and John Williams?

Thanks for your help.--Madtownjumper 04:38, 27 October 2013 (UTC)

George Williams Warren [30 March 2019]

Hello. This is my first time encountering werelate.org. Would you be related to George Williams Warren? There is a note on on his"page" about his death on the Alabama. Do you know where that reference comes from? The articles I've seen reference 39 passengers, and this reference mentions 24 passengers. It also uses December 5, when other articles will only go so far as to mention December 1st as the day they leave the New York harbor.

Thank you for your time!
