Robert Black of North Carolina [1 January 2014]

Hi Brian, got your message regarding Robert Black of Caswell County, NC. I don't specifically remember this family, but I likely stumbled across them while researching some of the Augusta County, VA Black's and decided to add their information for others (like yourself) that might be useful.

There ia a website referenced at the bottom of Robert's Person page that much of the information came from, so you might check that page for additional information. Since there was a tremendous influx of Scotch/Irish immigrants in the mid-1700's, it is likely Robert's parents did not come over with him, so you might have a difficult time tracing his parents without some type of ship record or other record to give you some leads. Unfortunately, during that time period, few ships passenger lists were kept, and there were few (if any) regulations governing immigration, so the records are few and far between....

Sorry I couldn't be of much help, hope you get lucky and find something that helps you go back further.
