LaChapelle Relatives [12 December 2008]

I picked up a GEDCOM that related some of my relatives in Maine with a large section of French-Canadian ancestry in the Mid-West. So I suppose we're related, but I wouldn't expect all that closely....

Thanks for saying hello anyway!--Jrm03063 14:48, 12 December 2008 (EST)

Living People in Trees on WeRelate [3 February 2009]

Hello,

My name is Jennifer, and I am one of the administrators on WeRelate. I was patrolling new entries, and came across some of your recent entries. It appears that some of them may be living persons. WeRelate's policy on posting information on living persons can be found here. It states: " We recommend that pages for living people not be created. If created, pages for living people should connect to pages for non-living people. Pages for living people found in uploaded GEDCOM files are created only if they belong to families with one or more non-living members.

Pages for living people may only contain the following information: the word "Living" for the person's given name, the person's surname, their gender, and the families to which the person belongs. Pages for living people may not contain any other information. For example, the person page for a deceased person named "Miles Mock" might be entitled "Miles Mock (1)" and contain information on his gender, birth, marriage, death, etc. The person page for a living person named "Miles Mock" would be entitled "Living Mock (1)" and contain only gender information and the families of which Miles is a member. If someone was born within the last 110 years and has no listed date or place for death or burial, we will assume they are alive. Death information is required to post additional information about these individuals. "

Thank you, and Welcome to WeRelate!--Jennifer (JBS66) 16:04, 27 January 2009 (EST)

Yes, I understood this. The pages are added with no personal information on my living relatives only to create the frame work to connect to their dead children to their dead parrents.--Arb 16:32, 27 January 2009 (EST)

I noticed that identifying information still remains on your Living person pages. Per WeRelate’s policy, I have removed all birth/marriage dates and locations from your Living person pages.--Jennifer (JBS66) 07:05, 3 February 2009 (EST)
