Hi there, Very happy to find this site. I have been looking for a place to share my research and to collaborate with others for a long time, and this site appears to have all the ingredients I have been looking for. I have tried using a group on FaceBook but have not been able to get enough members in order to expand the database of knowledge concerning the Leslie family of Port Mouton, Nova Scotia. After I learn this program, I intend on moving my information here and then invite my 'cousins' to join here.

I am especially interested in my father's loyalists ancestors, Jasper Leslie and Daniel Munroe who settled in Queens and Shelburne counties, Nova Scotia. I also have done some work in the past on my mother's side, McNulty from County Mayo, Ireland. I do work part-time (I'm retired from HP) at the Mayflower Library in Plymouth so do get to help others search for their ancestors and find I don't always have enough time to do my own. I enjoy the challenge of joining lineage societies, and am a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, United Empire Loyalists, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of American Colonists and many family organizations including Howland, Doane, Brewster, Hopkins. These organizations give a beginning and an end to the information needed so I feel as though I have finished something when I am finally accepted. I love family research and feel strongly that we all can honor our ancestors by joining lineage societies and also leave a legacy for our children, grandchildren, and other relatives. We all have stories to tell and this is a great way to do it. I have a sign in my kitchen that says "Home-where your story begins..." So hopefully I will get this first family (Leslie) up and running here and have many cousins who will collaborate on telling the stories and filling the the facts.
