My particular interest are to learn more about the poorhouse in Bridgnorth in the late 1700's and the early 1800's. My 3G grandfather (Henry) was christened there in 1814 and the St Leonards parish records shows that his mother (Eleanor) lived in the poorhouse. Her occupation is listed as a servant. These are the only facts I have to go with as it relates to his mother. I figure that if I can learn about what her lifes experience was like, it will enabled me to possibly learn who her parents were eventually. I have the tried the other approach which is look at all the Eleanors born nearby in an acceptable time period/vicinity and then try guessing which one it was. That has not given me much satisfaction. So I am digging into the details of what her life was like to help me get a better feel for the realities.
