Sept. 1722. JACOB, Plymouth, s. of the preced. m. 29 Dec. 1681, Lydia,
d. of the sec. John Miller of the same, had William, b. 5 Oct. 1688;
Lydia, 18 May 1685; Rebecca, 19 Nov. 1688; Jacob, 18 June 1690;
Margaret, 3 Nov. 1695; and Josiah, 14 May 1699. JAMES, Boston, d.
15 Dec. 1690. Perhaps he was the mariner, wh. m. Sarah, d. of Samuel
Very of Salem, and she next m. a Stover. JOHN, Plymouth 1633, call. senr.
prob. rem. 1643 to Rehoboth, is not kn. to have been relat. of the succeed.
Perhaps he rem. to Warwick, was town serj. 1651, freem. there 1655, and
prob. d. that yr. for his wid. Mary m. 1656, Thomas Relph. He left s.
John, and d. Elizabeth wh. m. 24 Dec. 1666, John Harrod. JOHN, Plymouth,
call. junr. s. of Francis, came with his f. in the Mayflower, was old eno.
to be tax. in 1634 as high as either his f. or John senr. m. 28 Mar.
1634, Sarah, d. of Richard Warren, had four ch. liv. in 1650, says
Bradford, 453; of wh. perhaps Esther, b. 16 Aug. 1650, was one;
Mercy, 25 July 1654, ano. was Mary, 1657; at least one must have
been m. and had more than one ch. to justify the extr. boast for old
Francis to the letter, that in 1600 he "hath seen his children's childr.
have childr." Jane, the sis. of John, had done her part for the blessing,
I presume; and his d. Sarah m. 20 Nov. 1652, Arthur Hathaway; and
Elizabeth m. 28 Nov. 1661, Daniel Wilcox. But in this branch the exult.
phrase of Bradford fails of truth. He was deac. but disagreed with
Reyner; rem. and was min. of Dartmouth 1676, of wh. he was one
of the first purch. and rep. 1673; and was liv. 1694, the oldest
surv. perhaps, of the male passeng. in the Mayflower; and d. 23
Nov. 1695. One of his ds. m. Thomas Tabor. JOHN, Salem
1637, came, perhaps, in the Abigail, 1635, aged 27, freem. 18 May
1642, had Sarah, bapt. 19 Sept. 1640; Elizabeth 16 May 1641; and
Mary, 22 Oct. 1643. He d. I suppose, in 1650, when his inv. was
brot. in. JOHN, Ipswich 1664. JOHN, Portsmouth, R. I. 1655, of wh.
I learn no more, unless that he had w. Ruth in 1682, then was 51
yrs. old, and John jr. prob. his s. was 26, and other s. Joseph and
Thomas, beside sev. ds. and his will was record. 1691. As early as
1647 he was made one of two "water bailies" of the Col. if there be no
mistake. One JOHN, a young man, Winthrop II. 97, says, was k. by
accid. at Boston, 23 June 1643; and a JOHN was at Windsor 1644,
wh. may have rem. to Stratford, and there was liv. 1667-77. JOHN,
Portsmouth, R. I. s. of Thomas of the same, freem. 1678, was
"licensed" 1688. tho. for what purpose I see not. He may have been
one of the chief men at Tiverton or Dartmouth 1686; then having a fam.
there. JOHN, Salem, m. 28 Dec. 1672, Mary, prob. d. of Anthony
Buxton, had Mary, b. 11 Nov. 1673; John, 20 Aug. 1674; Elizabeth 7 Apr.
1676; Samuel, 3 Nov. 1678, d. next yr.; Joseph, 9 Mar. 1681; Hannah,
9 Sept. 1684; Lydia, 2 Mar. 1687; and Isaac, 16 Apr. 1689. JOHN,
of Boston, was of the vestry of King's Chapel 1689; and a JOHN,
a soldier in the comp. of Moseley, Dec. 1675, and again in Philip's
war, 1676, at Hadley; may have been of Gloucester, m. 2 Feb. 1680,
Mary Elwell, had John, b. 20 Nov. 1680; beside three wh. d. inf.
and Mary, b. 1688. Babson thinks that his mo. was that wid. Rachel,
wh. m. William Vinson, but his f. is unkn. JOHN, Middletown, at
his d. 16 Jan. 1705, left ch. John, and Mary of full age; Daniel, 14 yrs.;
Sarah, 12; Ebenezer, 7. His w. Hannah, d. of capt. Daniel Harris,
could not have been the first. His will was made 15 Aug. 1698. JOHN,
