nam. in the royal chart. of 1662, and was some yrs. rep. for Milford,
had s. John; Joseph, wh. d. bef. his f. and perhaps others, beside sev.
ds. and sec. w. Mary, wid. of John Fletcher; and d. 1676. JOHN,
Springfield, m. 1647, Eliz. d. of Rowland Stebbins, and d. 1684,
leav. John; Sarah, b. 27 Dec. 1649; and Mary. JOHN, Hampton,
d. 18 May 1658. JOHN, Saybrook, perhaps s. of the John of S. bef.
ment. m. 16 Oct. 1650, Rebecca Parker, had Rebecca, b. 26 Jan. 1653;
John, 17 Nov. 1655; James, 29 Sept. 1657, d. at two yrs. and the f. was
by a cart 21 Sept. 1677. His wid. m. a Spencer, and d. 9 Jan. 1683.
Very difficult it may be at Saybrook to arrange all the Johns, for a
gravestone at Lyme, the E. part, formerly, of S. stands over one,
wh. d. 1719, aged 82, of wh. I find not b. Possib. the numeral may
be wrong. JOHN, New Haven, s. of the first John of the same m.
1 Feb. 1662, Sarah Smith, had Sarah, b. 24 Dec. foll. d. soon; John,
23 Jan. 1663; Samuel, 20 Aug. 1666; Joseph, 27 Oct. 1668; Sarah,
again, 24 Oct. 1671; Mary, and Abigail, tw. 19 July 1674. His w.
d. six days aft. and he m. 28 May next, Mary Walker. JOHN, New
London, rem. 1656, perhaps was a carpenter of Norwich 1680, and
d. 1709, leav. John, and five other ch. JOHN, Newport, s. perhaps
of Joseph, m. Feb. 1671 Jane Fletcher, had a d. b. 14 Feb. 1672, and
the mo. d. Apr. foll. and the ch. d. Mar. 1673. JOHN, Boston, mariner,
and merch. m. Mary, d. of Joshua Atwater, had only ch. Mary, b.
May 1681. He d. of smallpox in Barbary, prob. a prisoner, and his
wid. m. 8 Oct. 1694, John Coney, and d. 12 Apr. 1726. The d. m. 12
June 1701, Rev. Ebenezer Pemberton, and had two other hs. JOHN,
Exeter, call. sen. when he took o. of fidel. 30 Nov. 1677; but perhaps
that was only to disting. him from ano. JOHN, call. jun. wh. at the same
place, on the same day, went thro. the same formality. JOHN, Boston,
physician, s. of that John, wh. came to B. from Newbury, perhaps b. in
Eng. freem. 1673, was rep. 1689, and 90, and d. 17, was bur. 19 Dec.
1690. By w. Martha, d. of John, not of William Whittingham, had,
beside Elizabeth perhaps the youngest, wh. was w. of Richard Hubbard,
mariner
, and, next, m. 18 Aug. 1703, Rev. Cotton Mather, as his sec. w.
John, b. 27 Jan. 1668, H. C. 1687; William, 19 Dec. 1670; Samuel, 10
Nov. 1673, prob. d. soon; Samuel, again, 10 Nov. 1677. A sec. w.
Elizabeth whose surname is not heard, unless it were Williams, outliv. him
but few days, and in her will of 2 Jan. names Nathaniel Williams excor.
call. him br. wh. may mean more than ch. relat. and gives prop. to Elizabeth
(the d. of her h. by former w.) wh. was then unm. JOHN, New Haven,
m. 1661, Sarah, d. of George Smith, but may have had sec. w. Mary, as
had one John there 1686. JOHN, Springfield, s. of John of the same,
took o. of alleg. 31 Dec. 1678. * JOHN, Northampton, s. of William,
was rep. 1699, 1700,1, and 3, and d. 3 Sept. 1704. He m. 12 July
1677, Rebecca, d. of Thomas Cooper of Springfield, had Sarah, b. 20
