"John (Clark), Saybrook, perhaps s. of the John of S. bef. ment. m. 16 Oct. 1650, Rebecca ~~Parker~~ [Porter], had Rebecca, b. 26 Jan. 1653; John, 17 Nov. 1655; James, 29 Sept. 1657, d. at two yrs. and the f. was by a cart 21 Sept. 1677. His wid. m. a Spencer, and d. 9 Jan. 1683. Very difficult it may be at Saybrook to arrange all the Johns, for a gravestone at Lyme, the E. part, formerly, of S. stands over one, wh. d. 1719, aged 82, of wh. I find not b. Possib. the numeral may be wrong."
