[edit] Usage TipsThis is an index of information transcribed from digital copies of original records housed in repositories throughout England. The index is stored in an electronic database which may be searched on the free FamilySearch site. The original sources may include church records, civil registrations, and family records. Although you can use this WeRelate source for citing the records found, it is suggested that for the purposes of citation on WeRelate pages, you should use the original source referenced in the index (which can be identified in the Family Search Catalog). However, proper citation for genealogical purposes requires that you still reference this source in some fashion if you do not view the original source and only use the information provided in the database. The template {{FS England Deaths}} has been created to provide a simple means of doing this. Examples of its usage are provided below, and you may see other examples of its usage in context on these pages. Simple reference using the template:
indexed in “England Deaths and Burials, 1538-1991,” database, FamilySearch. The original source has not been verified. [edit] Additional Resources |
