Township of Stranger

Stranger is a civil township situated in the central part of the county of Leavenworth, state of Kansas, United States of America. It is bounded on the north by the township of High Prairie, on the east by the township of Fairmount, on the south by the township of Sherman, on the west by the townships of Reno and Tonganoxie, and on the northwest by the township of Alexandria.

History

With the creation of Wyandotte county, the Leavenworth county board reorganized the townships, effective 28 February 1859, and the township of Stranger was created. In 1867, the north end of Stranger was taken to form the new township of High Prairie, and in 1869, the south end was taken to form a part of the new township of Sherman.
