Sisland is a very small village civil parish in the English county of Norfolk, about a mile west of Loddon. It covers an area of 1.90 km2 (0.73 sq mi) and had a population of 44 in 16 households at the 2001 UK census. The population at the UK census of 2011 was probably counted with that of Loddon. Adding the population of a parish with less than 100 inhabitants to a neighbouring parish was the policy in 2011.

Its church is dedicated to St Mary.

Research Tips

  • Ancestry.co.uk has the following lists as of 2018 (UK or worldwide Ancestry membership or library access required). With the exception of the index to wills these files are browsible images of the original documents. The files are separated by type and broken down into time periods (i.e., "Baptism, Marriages, and Burials, 1535-1812" is more than one file). The general explanatory notes are worth reading for those unfamiliar with English parish records.
