Lifton Hundred was a very large hundred located in what is now the West Devon District. In places its western boundary was the River Tamar and the county of Cornwall. The hundred is #18 on the map.
A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Lifton Hundred from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1871-72:
- "LIFTON, a village, a parish, a [registration] sub-district, and a hundred, in Devon. The hundred contains twenty-one parishes and part of another. Acres: 133,300. Population in 1851: 15,847; in 1861: 15,433. Houses: 2,827."
GENUKI provides a longer description from White's History, Gazetteer, and Directory of Devonshire of 1850.
