Jackson County is a county in the U.S. state of West Virginia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 29,211. Its county seat is Ripley, and its largest municipality is Ravenswood.

Jackson County, Virginia was formed in 1831 from portions of Kanawha, Mason and Wood Counties. It became part of the State of West Virginia in 1863 when it achieved statehood.
