Huntington Hundred contained eight parishes in Herefordshire and was adjacent to Radnorshire in Wales. John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72 reported that it contained 27,909 acres and had a population of 6,028 in 1,255 houses.
If the original map on which this sketch is based is blown up to a much higher magnification, you will find it includes many places in Herefordshire discussed on these pages. The rivers and ranges of hills are also shown.
