Gloucester St. Owen was an ancient parish within the City of Gloucester and also a civil parish from 1866 until 1896. Gloucester St. Owen had historical associations with Gloucester St. Mary de Crypt as an ecclesiastical parish, but not as a civil parish. "Gloucester St Mary de Crypt with All Saints and St Owen is an Ecclesiastical Parish in the county of Gloucestershire, created in 1643 from Gloucester St Mary de Crypt Ancient Parish and Gloucester St Owen Ancient Parish" (from the FamilySearch Wiki). It served an area to the south of the cathedral beyond the parish of Gloucester St. Nicholas.
